When young Rintaro Ukabe invents a microwave cell phone capable of sending emails to the past, his world changes forever... literally.
Akihabara, summer 2010. Rintaro Okabe is a brilliant university student as confident as he is unaware of his lack of maturity. Okabe is the founder of the Future Artifacts Research Institute, a laboratory where he and two friends develop all kinds of inventions on a daily basis. Among them is a microwave mobile prototype with which he accidentally sends an e-mail to the past. Carried away by the countless emotion of having created the invention of the century, he interferes again with the past out of simple curiosity. As a consequence, a great tragedy that affects the entire world unfolds before him. Thus begins Okabe's lonely battle to avoid tragedy, but will he be able to overcome fate?
