Violet will do anything to escape her relationship with violent gangster boyfriend Caesar, and when alluring ex-con Corky appears on the scene, Violet sees her chance. The feature film debut from siblings and future Matrix directors The Wachowskis was an instant game-changer: a cool, queer, pulpy crime film with an unmistakable edge. Thirty years on, it still feels like a jolt to the system, with cult icons Gina Gershon (Showgirls) and Jennifer Tilly (Bride of Chucky) heading up a cast that includes Joe Pantoliano (Memento), Christopher Meloni (12 Monkeys), and character actor John P. Ryan (Runaway Train) in his final film role.
