Synopsis:
New England, 1630. Faced with the threat of being disowned by his church, an English farmer decides to leave the town and settle in the middle of nature with his wife and five children, in the middle of an inhospitable forest where something evil and unknown lives. Strange things immediately begin to happen: the animals become aggressive, the harvest fails, one of the children disappears while another seems to be possessed by an evil spirit... Suspicion and paranoia increase, and the family accuses Thomasin of witchcraft, the teenage daughter, something she flatly denies. Circumstances worsen, and the faith, loyalty and affection of family members are tested in unimaginable ways.
