Synopsis:
Out of boredom and frustration, a writer picks up random strangers on the crowded streets of London and follows them around, seeing where they go and how they spend their days. Thinking he's gathering useful material for his fictional characters, he begins following the same people over and over, drawn to discovering more about their lives. A professional thief named Cobb confronts him and asks why he's following him. He decides to accompany Cobb on a robbery, teaching him the ropes and demonstrating his ability to deduce things about his victims from their belongings. Increasingly involved in Cobb's activities and obsessed with a woman whose house has been burgled, the writer becomes entangled in a dangerous web.
