Synopsis:

Travis Bickle is a traumatized, sleep-disordered Vietnam veteran who works long nights as a taxi driver. The hostile and violent society that he sees around him plunges him into loneliness. A series of frustrating events and a desperate relationship with a 14-year-old prostitute lead him to an extreme situation. The climax of this story is one of the strongest sequences in the story.
