Synopsis:
Jose, unemployed, is sent by a temporary employment agency as an extra to an industrial building on the outskirts of Madrid, to work on the recording of a special New Year's Eve programme, in the middle of August. Hundreds of people like him have been locked up for a week and a half, day and night, sweating desperately while pretending to laugh, stupidly celebrating the false arrival of the new year, over and over again. No one is happy. Alphonso, the charismatic star of the song, is capable of anything to ensure that his performance has the maximum share. Adanne, his antagonist, a young Latin singer, is harassed by fans who want to blackmail him. The presenters of the programme hate each other, competing with each other to gain the trust of the producer, who fights to prevent the closure of the channel. But what no one expects is that Alphonso's life is in danger. While they laugh and applaud meaningless performances that they do not see, the extras go crazy, and our protagonist falls in love.
