Synopsis:
Shortly before the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), Fernando decides to desert and takes refuge in a country house, where he is welcomed by Manolo, an eccentric painter who lives in retirement due to his political ideas. The boy successively maintains relationships with his protector's four daughters (Rocío, Violeta, Clara and Luz), without knowing very well which of them he is in love with.
