Synopsis:
Geneviève is a young woman who lives with her mother and helps her in the umbrella shop they have in Cherbourg. She is in love with Guy, a young mechanic, whom she plans to marry despite the opposition of her mother, who considers Geneviève too young and Guy too poor.
