Synopsis:
Beginning of the 18th century. England is at war with France. Even so, duck racing and the taste for pineapple flourish in splendor. The delicate Queen Anne occupies the throne and her close friend Lady Sarah rules the country in her place while dealing with Anne's fragile health and volatile temper. When new maid Abigail appears on the scene, her charisma endears her to Sarah. Sarah makes Abigail her protégé and she sees a chance to return to her aristocratic roots. As the issues of war consume Sarah's time, Abigail steps in to fill the void she has left as the Queen's companion.
