Synopsis:

Spartacus tells of the revolt of a group of slaves - who would become a legion -, led by the gladiator Spartacus, against the Roman Empire. The uprising of Spartacus of Thrace, who became a slave and sold as a gladiator to the trainer Lentulus Batiatus, begins when, after weeks of training to kill in the arena, he leads a rebellion of the gladiators. As they move from one city to another their number increases, as new freed slaves join them. Under his command they will try to reach southern Italy, where they plan to embark to return to their homes.
