Sinopsis:

Emmy Baudine's magnetic attraction to the opposite sex causes her to be run out of rural Ireland by intolerant locals. But her violent reaction to intimacy soon catches up with her in the shape of a face from the past – a face ruinously scarred by Emmy's fingernails.

Featuring strong supporting performances, chiaroscuro cinematography and a moodily evocative score, Daughter of Darkness has been painstakingly restored by Hammer from 2K scans made from the original film negatives. This brand-new 2K restoration is available here for the first time anywhere in the world on Blu-ray.

Extras:

• New 2K restoration of the UK theatrical version from the original negatives
• Two 2026 commentaries with Heidi Honeycutt, Sarah Morgan, Josephine Botting and Phuong Le
• New programme on director Lance Comfort and his body of work, featuring bfi curator and programmer Josephine Botting, film critic and journalist Phuong Le, film and media historian Melanie Williams, writer/researcher Marc David Jacobs and film curator, filmmaker, and writer Ehsan Khoshbakht
• New programme on the making of Daughter of Darkness by Jonathan Rigby, author of English Gothic and Studies in Terror
