Sinopsis:
Wealth, propriety, and forbidden passion collide in Victorian London in MGM's prestigious, Academy Award®-nominated adaptation of John Galsworthy's The Forsyte Saga. Greer Garson stars as irene, a fiercely independent music teacher trapped in a sterile, loveless marriage to the rigid, possessive solicitor Soames Forsyte - played with stunning dramatic nuance by Errol Flynn in a legendary, acclaimed change-of-pace performance. When Irene falls deeply in love with an enthusiastic young architect (Robert Young) engaged to Soames' vibrant niece June (Janet Leigh), it sparks a scandalous chain of betrayal, jealousy, and tragedy that threatens to dismantle the proud family empire from within. Co-starring Walter Pidgeon and wrapped in Walter Plunkett's breathtaking Oscar®-nominated period costume designs, That Forsyte Woman stands as a peak achievement of Hollywood's Golden Age gloss.
The Warner Archive Collection is proud to present That Forsyte Woman on Blu-ray for the very first time, meticulously restored from 4K scans of its original 3-strip nitrate Technicolor camera negatives. This definitive Blu-ray presentation breathes spectacular new life into the film's vibrant palette, revealing every rich fabric texture and lushly appointed set decoration with an unparalleled depth and clarity that honors Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's silver anniversary masterwork.
