Sinopsis:
Peter Bogdanovich's Nickelodeon casts Ryan O'Neal as a hapless lawyer who becomes a screenwriter and director by sheer opportunity. Burt Reynoids is a nobody drifter who becomes a movie star by sheer chance. Tatum O'Neal is a not-so-tender girl who rents lots of things to the movie-makers with sheer audacity. Brian Keith is a movie mogul — the studio head by sheer guts, and Stella Stevens is the company's screen queen through sheer glamour. The comedy film introduces John Ritter as the company's cameraman by sheer experience, and model-turned-actress Jane Hitchcock is a model-turned-actress by sheer beauty and determination.
How this company of movie people flee to California and make their movies with improvised scripts and settings, hand-cranked cameras and inferior equipment, all the while dodging bill collectors and the threatening bullies of the Patents Company trust, fills the screen with laughter and tears, comedy and pathos, action and romance.
