Sinopsis & Extras:
Li Han-hsiang was among the most influential directors of Chinese cinema, helming over 70 films across a five-decade career. A multi-time Golden Horse Award winner and Cannes Film Festival Award winner, he had roots as a painter and set designer, which gave his films a striking visual presence and saw him explore countless genres - including Huangmeidiao opera adaptations, historical costume dramas, fengyue films, and erotica.
This first volume of Li Han-hsiang’s erotic films showcases three sensual 70s Shaw Brothers entries, each ready to intrigue and arouse:
This lavish erotic anthology film was one of the biggest Hong Kong box office hits in 1973, starring Elliot Ngok Wah (Hell Has No Boundary), Fang Mian (Intimate Confessions of a Chinese Courtesan), and Chen Ping (The Oily Maniac).
Three tales drawn from classical Chinese legend unfold across the Tang and Ming dynasties, weaving together emperors, scholars, Buddhist monks, and fortunetellers, in a world where adultery, greed, and desire make the rules.
Steeped in the mythology of Imperial China, each self-contained story is a gem, bound together by Li Han-hsiang's extraordinary eye for period spectacle.
