Synopsis:
A critically acclaimed film that won a total of eight Academy Awards in 1970 (including Best Picture), Patton is a fascinating portrait of one of the greatest military geniuses of the 20th century. One of these Oscars went to George C Scott for this triumphant portrayal of George Patton, the only Allied general who truly frightened the Nazis. Charismatic and flamboyant, Patton designed his own uniforms, boasting six ivory-handled pistols, and believed he had been a warrior in past lives. He outmaneuvered Rommel in Africa, and day after day he led his troops on an unstoppable campaign across Europe. But he was as rebellious as he was brilliant, and as Patton shows with pathos and insight, his own mercurial personality was the enemy he could never defeat.
